Letter # 3

Dear family, how is everything going back at home.  I want to know everything so you guys better write me.  Tell me how Christmas was, tell me how good the snow is.  There is not much going on here but I guess that President Thomas S. Monson came, no big deal.  I was in the 15th row head on with the Prophet it was awesome.  I'm just kidding but we did get Russell M. Nelson he gave us really good news and scriptures.  He stayed for the whole day and came to priesthood.  It was a good experience.  On Christmas day we watched a talent show all day.  There is a lot of talent here but it was kind of a long day.  I have not gained to much weight.  I'm at 215 now and I haven't even ate that much but oh well.  there is really not much new here.  I like my district and most of my zone.  There are a couple kids I really like.  They are just like me if you can believe it.  Lulla is from Cali he is a way chill kid.  We are pretty tight.  The Croft kid from Shelly that I played football against and Stokes is way chill he is in our zone.  He is just like me and likes to ride sleds and everything.  He is from Preston.  My companion still drives me crazy some times but he is getting better.   Other than that I'm doing pretty good.  I'm struggling with this language for some reason it kinda sucks but hopefully I learn it.  I'll talk to you next week.  Love Elder Robison

Letter # 2 from MTC

Family,
Life is not bad.  I kind of enjoy my district a lot.  Elder Lulla and Abbot ( I think) are same way cool kids.  They relate to me a lot in the way I lived when I was home.  I like them alot.  My companion drives me kind of crazy.  He just straight up leaves and doesn't tell me.  We're all nice to him though.  I miss you all and want some letters so send me some.  Yesterday I learned a lot about Joseph Smith and every step of what happened from word to word and story to story.  It was really neat.  Other than that its just the MTC.  Not much happening other than class or eating 3 full meals a day and gaining 20 pounds, just kidding.  I'm liking it so far.  So I'll talk to you next week.  Elder Robison

Brenan's first letters

Brenan's first email and letter both arrived today.

email--Its been a crazy week but its not as bad as everyone thinks.  My district are some cool guys and we have fun but at the same time we get things done.  The only thing I'm stressed about is the language there are guys in my district that are really smart and basically knew it before they came so I feel behind on about everything.  Not much to say other than I miss home a little but not to bad.  I get to email once a week on Mondays and write letters on P-day which is Monday also.  I'm trying to be obedient as much as I can.  They don't allow gum here.  We have 5 packs on the desk and no one has even touched them so we are pretty obedient but have fun love Elder Robison

Letter--My companion's name is Elder Neubert and he is from Kaysville Utah.  Its not as bad as everyone says.  My companion is a little different.  He loves the Christmas lights, juggling, and quoting cartoons.  Nothing has hit me yet besides being tired.  They verily give us time to breath.  Enough about me I have a district of 6 elders and 3 hermanas.  They are all pretty cool.  My favorite district companion is elder Crofts.  He is from Shelly.  We played football against each other in 09.  He actually played center for them.  Elder Sorensen he is the district smart one.  He has been studying a long time.  It's alot to take in the first couple of days.  I'm doing good.

The MTC

Saying goodbye was hard.  This is right before he walked away for two years.  Curb side drop off stinks.

unloading his bags the elder standing there is a missionary host that is there to help him get to the right spot.

Brenan's farewell

Brenan's farewell was December 12.  He did great on his talk.  He was more worried about his talk than his mission.  He did great and said he wasn't too nervous when he finally got up there to talk.  We had a dinner at the shop afterwards.  He had amazing support and I thank all of you who have supported him this far.

GOING to the TEMPLE

On November 4th Brenan went through the temple and took out his endowments.
It was a beautiful day.  We had a ton of support from our family.  We love and appreciate them all.

A good lookin boy or man I should say:)

Everyone that came except for Todd and Denise who had an appointment to be to and Bishop Anhder who had a meeting.  We had a good turnout.

Celebrating at Famous Dave's after the big day.  Everyone loved the ribs!!

The Call

On September 16 the doorbell rang at 10:30.  I went to the door and there was our mail lady with a big envelope in her hand.  She said she wanted to hand deliver it.  It was Brenan's mission call.  He had only sent his papers in a week and a half earlier.  Matt's took 3 weeks from when he sent them in so we weren't expecting them this soon.  I hollered down the stairs and told Brenan his call was here.  He had said he wanted to wait and open it with his friends there.  We started planning a little party for later that night.  His call setting there on the table about drove me crazy.  Most of his friends were there by 6:00.  We had to wait for everyone to arrive.  We finally got to the big moment.

All of Brenan's friends came out to watch him open his mission call.

Still waiting

And waiting

Brenan looking a little nervous with his scruffy face.  He's holding onto those whiskers as long as he can.

Still waiting

The time has arrived his friend John sitting beside him giving him support.

Getting everything out of the envelope

He silently read to himself while we all waited he just had that cute little grin but didn't say anything.
Finally it was here.  DRUM ROLL PLEASE....You have been called to the Knoxville Tennessee mission, you will report to the MTC on December 15th and will learn the spanish language.  There it was "THE CALL"  I was excited about everything except the date.  I kept saying I didn't care where he went as long as it was past Salt Lake and if he didn't leave before Christmas.  They evidently didn't care what I thought.
We had him read the entire letter.  It will be a really neat mission I think.  He is excited.  Sundee's Jenson ( my cousin) son is serving in the same mission.  I think he will come home the same time Brenan gets to Tennessee because he will be in the MTC for awhile learning spanish.
